Buzios is a city on the Atlantic coast of Brazil. It belongs to the state of Río de Janeiro and is on a peninsula surrounded by islands. It has over twenty beaches, each unique and beautiful in its own way.
The buildings are not more than two floors high and are generally made of rustic materials and wood. Its main street is Rua das Pedras, which has good shops, bars and restaurants in a small space and boasts a great nightlife.
Its setting means that Buzios is ideal for lots of different sports, including: diving, swimming, trekking, mountain biking, fishing, golf, surfing, tennis, squash, skateboarding, horse riding and many more.
Azeda beach is one of the nicest in Brazil, with its fine white sand, peaceful blue seas and its leafy vegetation.
You will find a nudist beach (Ojo de Buey) at the end of Playa Brava, a favourite with surfers. Playa de Joao Fernandes is a very popular beach with the tourists. The air is filled with the music from its beach bars. Playa da Ferradura is ideal for children, while Playa de Geribá is perfect for surfing and windsurfing.
