The Canadian province of Quebec is home to a tourist destination called Charlevoix, in which you will find the town of La Malbaie.
This is a lovely place in which to have a relaxing holiday in the midst of nature. The pretty Cap-à-l'Aigle gardens were cultivated on ancestral land. They have an excellent collection of flowers that includes 800 varieties of lily, perennial plants and ancient trees. The Port-au-Saumon ecological centre has a water park called Saguenay-Saint-Laurent. For those who enjoy discovering the mysteries of history, there is an old carpentry workshop called La Fragua, which was built in 1882 and a granary called Gran Bherer, which was erected over 160 years ago.
There are also some very interesting old churches in the town, remarkable for their architecture and activities. One of these is the Monastery of the Glorious Cross, another is the Murray Bay Church, which was built in 1867, is one of the first protestant churches in the region and has a wonderful bell tower and some good stained glass windows. Finally, don?t forget to visit the protestant chapel of St. Peter, which has a lovely mahogany façade. In the winter, the Regional Park of Mont Grande becomes a ski resort with 14 runs of varying levels of difficulty.
La Malbaie is a good bet for your next holiday destination!
The village of Pointe-au-Pic used to be known as Murray Bay. The village became famous in the 60's when the white ships of the Canadian Steamship Line used to tie up here. The village of Pointe-au-Pic has kept its hospitaly and warmth through the years. The village is located right along the St-Lawrence River.
