The peninsula of Istria is located in the Adriatic Sea, between the Gulf of Trieste and the coastal area of Kvarner, in Croatia. The peninsula is shared among three countries: Croatia (the largest part), Slovenia (the north, with the only exit to the sea) and Italy (a small part of the south). Istria is also the largest Croat peninsula and it has some lovely towns, including Porec, which has been UNESCO World Heritage since 1997.
We recommend visiting the area's lovely beaches and bays. Pula Amphitheatre, one of Istria's most important monuments, was constructed in the 1st century during the time of the Emperor Vespasian. Visitors should not miss the Brijuni National Park and the olive oil and wine routes. There are also many different events to see, such as the Pula Cinema Festival, the Motovun Cinema Festival, Bikers days etc.
See this lovely peninsula full of natural, cultural and historical attractions, discover its landscape, visit Istria!
