The city of Nancy is the capital of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department, in the Lorraine region, in the northeast of France.
Among its main sights are: the Cathedral, which was begun in 1700; and the Duke's Palace, commissioned by René II in 1502, the palace combines both Renaissance and Gothic styles. It currently houses a museum run by the Archaeological Society.
We also recommend a visit to the Saint Epvre Square and Basilica. This was built in 1436 but was destroyed in 1863 and replaced with the current, ogival basilica. You can also visit the Franciscan Church, Stanislas Square, and the Craffe Gate, raised at the end of the 14th century.
Likewise, you should pay a visit to some of the many bars, pubs and restaurants in the city, a number of which have terraces for you to enjoy the fresh air and views of the city. Tour its medieval streets, its monuments and museums, discover Nancy!
