 Room on front of hotel was very noisy . Window had to be left open as there was no air conditioning.

 Perhaps it was my mistake for booking too cheaply, but the basic room we were given was awful. I was very upset and did not want to sleep in it. The 'boy' on reception could not help us change that night and was more interested in talking to his friend on the phone than dealing with customers. The room was very, very shabby; the carpet in the corridor was dirty, the paint on the walls damaged and old; there was damage to another room's door frame which looked (to me) like someone had tried to break in. The room was 'triangular' and so small one had to step over the corner of the bed to get to the bathroom. The bathroom door and door frame paint was peeling (because the shower sprays on to the floor) and the wallpaper near the ceiling was also coming off. The sheets and towels were clean. We changed rooms the next day and paid more. The refurbished room was fine (although the shower is so small that one can't help flooding the bathroom everytime - the redecoration is therefore not going to last long!) I would not stay there again and would certainly not recommend the hotel to others - the Gare du Nord area is not a nice one - now I know! (The questionnaire system would not let me say no-one!)

This modern hotel is situated between the Gare du Nord and the Gare de l'Est and close to famous Montmartre. In addition, the opera and the largest shops are within easy reach of the hotel. Guests are also only steps away from the train station, bus stops, bars and restaurants. Charles de Gaulle airport is located 37 km away and Orly airport is around 45 km away.

Guests should take the number 4 or 5 métro line to the Gare du Nord. RER lines B and D provide direct access to the airport.
