The city of Reims is in north-eastern France, in the Département of Marne, in the Champagen-Ardennes region, barely 50 kilometres from Paris.
One of its main attractions is the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Reims, a Gothic temple that was begun in 1211 and which is notable for its imposing facade and its stained glass. The cathedral?s significance is mainly due to the fact that it was the place where the Kings of France were crowned. Another important monument is the Basílica Saint Rémi, built in 1007 in a mix of styles, the most evident of which are Gothic and Romanesque. We would also encourage you to visit the Palace of Tau ? built i the 17th century ? the Museum of Fine Arts, the enormous Mars Gate and the Le Vergeur mansion, which was built between the 13th and 16th centuries and now houses an art museum.
Reims has plenty to see and do; its lovely gardens and parks are ideal for a day?s outing, and the Royal Square (1760) is well worth a look.
Come and stroll through the streets and avenues of Reims and discover a lovely French city.
It is located on the outskirts of the city, conveniently close to all main road and rail links, including the A4 Autoroute.
