Strasbourg is a pretty city in eastern France. It is in the Rhine Valley, close to the German border. It is a great base from which to explore Alsace, Baden Baden, the Black Forest and the Vosgues.
The old quarter of Strasbourg is encircled by the L'ill River. Of note is its Gothic Cathedral, made of pink stone and having a huge bell tower.
