Mannheim is a German city in the state of Baden-Wurtemberg. It is at the mouth of the Neckar River, in the Upper Rhine.
It has a good range of monuments, the most iconic of which is the Water Tower, in Frederic Platz, which is a popular place to meet.
Admire the Baroque architecture of the Residential Palace and its church, as well as the Jesuit Church. We recommend visiting its interesting museums, such as the Regional Work Museum, as well as the galleries and the planetarium. Visit the Rosengarten building, the National Theatre and the old fire station, known as the "Feuerwache".
Mannheim has numerous green spaces, such as the Waldpark, which is ideal for jugging and sunbathing. The Luisenpark has a Chinese Tea House, a butterfly house and a lake. The Herzogenriedpark, with its zoo, the Waldpark and the Käfertal are ideal for cyclists and walkers.
Planken is a pedestrian zone that is perfect for a bit of shopping and visiting elegant cafes.
