  Positive reviews about the hotel: The hotel provided exactly what it said it would. It was centrally positioned to enjoy all the touristic features of Instanbul together with excellent opportunities to taste local and international cuisine. The staff were very friendly, professional and embracing. The transfer to the airport was easy, albeit a search for the lowest prices was needed, and tour operators were in an abundance. A very nice positive experience.   Negative reviews about the hotel: The spa and gym facilities were a little over-rated and a little pricey but they were there. The climb to the roof bar proved a little difficult for us oldies but when there the view and service were excellent. The international airport Sabiha Goken is some distance from the city centre (45k) but when coupled with a tour the journey is free.   Things to do near the hotel: Being in the centre of the tourist area of the city most visits were within walking distance. The tram around the city giving access to just about all of Istanbul, the Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque were only 5 min. walk away. The Bosphorus Cruise revealed a view of Istanbul from another perspective and was well worth while organising. The hotel design protected us from noise - even the early morning calls from the Mosque!

  Positive reviews about the hotel: Excellent Location   Negative reviews about the hotel: If you are choosing this hotel purely for it's location BEWARE.....they have a practice of out booking you to another poorly located hotel within the same chain, under the excuse that they have had a leak. At breakfast they offer you freshly squeezed orange juice but regret to inform you that is is an extra 3YTL. They then say they have no change in YTL so offer you change in another currency hoping to make on the conversion, when I compained to the waiter and asked to see the manager he panicked and gave change in correct currency and offered free juices. Hotel staff seem hell bent on extorting every penny they can from you...   Other reviews: Stay at the Romance Hotel which is in same location

This grandiose boutique hotel in the special class service category was first renovated in the mid-nineties, and later again in 2007. The outer appearance, original bay windows and traditional Turkish-style properties of the building have been carefully preserved and seamlessly combined with modern and comfortable decoration. This special aspect of the building is reflected in the 36 guest rooms, and allows guests to experience true authenticity in this magical city. It is air-conditioned and has a lobby, 24-hour reception, a currency exchange facility, cloakroom, lift access, a bar, restaurant, conference facilities and WLAN access. The hotel also offers business services such as a workstation with Internet access, a printing service, telephone and fax service, courier service and business car rental. Room and laundry services are available for a fee (subject to fees). Parking facilities are available to guests arriving by car.

This hotel is within walking distance of such major historical sights as St. Sophia (Aya Sophia/Hagia Sophia), The Blue (Sultanahmet) Mosque, The Cistern Basilica (Yerebatan Cistern), Topkapi Palace, The Grand Bazaar (Kapalicarsi) and Misir Carsisi. Once described as the Way of Kings, Divan Yolu is an ancient road used by imperial leaders as a route into the Old City and its palaces. It divides the historical peninsula down the middle and leads guests directly from the hotel into the heart of Sultanahmet. Restaurants, bars, links to public transport, and shopping opportunities can all be found in the vicinity. Sirkeci Railway Station is about a 10-minute walk away. Ataturk Airport is approximately 18 km away.

From Ataturk International Airport: Leaving the airport, turn right at the first intersection, and follow the signs for Sirkeci/Sahilyolu. Upon reaching a roundabout with a big fountain in the middle, turn left, following the signs for Sirkeci. Drive straight along the seaside road for approximately 17 km, before turning left at the first sign for Sultanahmet. Go under the small iron railway bridge, then take the first left. Continue for 400 m and take the fifth turn on the right (at Kumkapi Police Station). Continue for 500 m and the hotel is on the right (opposite Eminonu Town Hall).
