  Positive reviews about the hotel: Reception staff were excellent, very efficient, very knowledgeable. Nice room, clean and comfortable   Negative reviews about the hotel: Breakfast choice good but a la carte not so. We thought the buffet to be rather expensive even though you could eat your fill   Things to do near the hotel: The harbour area of Alvor is very beautiful, that is part of the reason for our stay. Most other areas of interest are within easy reach.

  Positive reviews about the hotel: Newly refurbished rooms are on the small side but very nicely decorated with classy new bathroom. Worth paying a little more for the fabulous sea view. Lovely spacious grounds, no rushing for sunbeds, plenty of space, right by the beach - excellent

  Positive reviews about the hotel: Location was good right on the beach Plenty of sun beds and pools nice gardens.   Negative reviews about the hotel: We booked a villa and got an apartment with dangerous paving that was broken right outside. We were put next door in their sister hotel Atlantica with some shabby blocks around although one nicely done up one i expect they show on pictures. There was no iron any where on the complex. The Childrens pools were freezing and dirty. More like a two star. The kids club only took children over four. Husband had bad stomach after eating at the snack bar. Has the possability of being nice needs decorating and attention to detail.   Things to do near the hotel: Quite a long walk to the village which is very nice. Nice area excellent fresh fish restaraunts, Water sports and boat trips although check the prices! Local bar street was lively while still being good for families.   Other reviews: I have never visited any where with out ironing facilaties ever. They do have a laundry service but you have to pay 50% extra to get them back the next day and they don.t have any on a weekend . Basic tv in the dining end of lounge which was a bit odd! Size of apartment was good but it still was not a villa.

Facilities include a stylish lobby with lifts, safes, a currency exchange desk and a 24-hour reception. In addition, there is a games room, a hairdresser's salon, a cosy bar and a restaurant. For an additional fee guests are able to use the Internet terminal with WLAN, medical assistance as well as room and laundry services. Furthermore the hotel offers car parking facilities, a kids' club and a children's playground.

This hotel is located right by the beach area of the Algarve, with a wonderful view over the Atlantic, around 1 km outside the town of Alvor. Further sightseeing attractions include cities like Portimao, Lagos or Silves, which lie between 5 and 20 km away from the hotel. The Alvor Estuary, a major nature protection area for birds, is within easy reach of the hotel. Public transport departs from stops directly in front of the hotel. Faro airport is a 30-minute drive away from the hotel.

Leave the airport and follow the signs to the highway A22. Take A22 in the direction of Portimão/Lagos. Leave A22 at the exit 4 Alvor. You will find two roundabouts. Follow the signs to Alvor. First, appears Montes de Alvor after an aerodrome, then signs to Pestana Hotels such as Pestana Alvor Praia, Pestana Delfim, Pestana D. João II Village, Pestana Alvor Atlântico and Pestana Alvor Park. Continue until Alvor village. All Pestana hotels are clearly signposted from Alvor center.

There are 8 different golf courses within a radius of 15km and the hotel offers a diverse, daily entertainment programme.
