Hotel description

This hotel, with its exquisite service, has already accommodated many well known people who valued the tranquillity of the area for relaxation. Guests have included Charles de Gaulle, who in 1970 finished writing his memoirs here and Alfonso XIII, for whom the hotel was one of his favourite retreats. The hotel has space for 60 guests, who may be accommodated over 2 floors in 20 double rooms, 1 single and 4 suites. This air-conditioned hotel has its own garden and terrace, as well as a foyer with 24-hour reception desk, currency exchange facility and lift access. A restaurant serving excellent food, several conference rooms equipped with audio-visual facilities for up to 60 people and communal lounge areas are also on hand. Guests may also make use of the room and laundry services and parking facilities.

Emplacement

This rustic and grand hotel was once the hunting lodge of the Marqueses de Larios family who are well known in the city of Málaga. It lies in the middle of a nature reserve, 800 m above sea level. Here guests may enjoy life in the mountains without having to go without the facilities of a good hotel. The centre of Marbella, where public transport links may be found, lies around 15 km away. The beach is roughly 20 km from the hotel, whereas Málaga airport is roughly 70 km away.

By car: from the centre of Malaga or the airport, take the A7 motorway to Benalmadena-Algeciras. After the exits Benalmadena and Fuengirola, guests should take the exit \"\"Ojén\"\" on to the A355 in the direction of Monda-Coin. At 11 km, after Marbella, there is a sign for the Refugio de Juanar at a junction. Follow the signposted small road for about 5 km to reach the hotel. By public transport (not recommended): from Malaga airport take the train to Fuengirola. From there, take the bus to Marbella or Ojén. From here, a taxi is recommended for the remainder of the trip to the hotel.

The spacious rooms are traditionally decorated with much use of wood. The excellent facilities ensure guest a comfortable and unforgettable stay. The rooms include an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer and toiletries, a safe, direct dial telephone (fixed or cordless) for local and national calls, a minibar, central heating (air conditioning is not necessary) and satellite TV. The suites and a several rooms are additionally fitted with a Jacuzzi and a fireplace. Some of the rooms enjoy the morning sun, others the afternoon or evening sun.

The hotel grounds include a tennis court and a swimming pool with sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use.
