Perugia is a city in the Italian region of Umbria, very close to the River Tiber. Located in the centre of the Italian peninsula, it is the capital of both the region of Umbria and the province of Perugia.
The city has a number of top quality events, including the Umbria Jazz Festival, and the famous Eurochocolate festival.
The impressive site of the city has been inhabited since the Iron Age, and the city was founded by the Etruscans, although it later fell under Roman domination.
