Guanajuato is a city in the Mexican state of the same name; located in the centre of Mexico, it is considered to be one of the cultural capitals of the country and it is also UNESCO World Heritage.
There are many museums to visit, like the Diego Rivera House, the Guanajuato People's Museum, the Don Quixote iconography museum, the Regional Alhóndiga de Granaditas, the Mummy Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Mariana Gallery, the Mineralogy Museum, among others.
Visit the impressive Basilica of Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato, with its Baroque facade, the Juárez Theatre, the Church of San Diego, the Legislative Palace, the University, the Conde de Rul's mansion and the Hidalgo Market, where you can buy some interesting crafts. See its colonial streets and alleys, and go to the traditional mining and pottery workers' neighbourhoods.
