Mazatlán is a city in northwest Mexico. It is known as the "Pearl of the Pacific" and has some of the most popular beaches in Mexico.
Of its almost twenty miles of beaches, the main one is Playa Norte, in central Mazatlán. This is where you?ll find the Monument to the Fishermen and the Pacific Beer hall. In the northern section are the beaches of Playa Gaviotas ? the heart of the Zona Dorada ? Camarón, the beaches of the hotel resort of Sábalo, and Playa Cerritos, which is surrounded by hills. In the south is the historical district, home to Playa Olas Altas, which has several iconic monuments and is a favourite among surfers.
The old district of Viejo Mazatlán is quite magical. Explore its historic little alleys and have a coffee at on of its numerous cafes, bars or restaurants, where you can try the region?s excellent food. We recommend visiting its interesting museums, the Cathedral of la Inmaculada Concepción, Plaza de Armas ? which holds cultural events ? the Pino Suárez Municipal Market and the hotspots of Mazatlán's vibrant nightlife.
