 We had a problem with the first room as this was dirty, sockets hanging off, rat trap outside the balcony, tv not working properly. We were offered an alternative room and this smelt like a sewer so we declined. Eventully got a room on the second floor which seems to be a better option than the ground floor rooms. Still problems with the air conditioning and bare live sockets (this was a family room as well), but the air con was fixed and there was a cover put on the socket (would not like to put an electrical item in it though). I would like to point out that I have never had to switch rooms before on a holiday.We were offered a complimentary additional Al A Carte meal as an apology.The Al A Carte meals were excellent. The buffet was ok for breakfast and dinner and you could manage for a few days for evening meals before it got samey.Staff very nice and accommodating. Generally good value for the week. Easy to get about outside the hotel with the local mini buses which are $2 to Playa Del Carmen and Tulum.Entertainment good for children but not too good for adults and this is why I have recommended this resort for groups as a group of people would have a great time.I would still recommend this hotel and resort despite the initial problems, but would recommend that you request an alternative room should it not be up to standard.

Facilities on offer at this fully air-conditioned establishment include a foyer with a 24-hour reception, a safe, and a currency exchange counter, in addition to some shops, a hairdresser, 6 bars , a nightclub, and a theatre. There is one main/ buffet restaurant and 5 à la carte restaurants (serving seafood, international gourmet specialities, Mediterranean, and Japanese cuisine). Guests can also make use of a conference room, a public Internet terminal, a laundry service, medical facilities, and bicycle hire. There are parking spaces and a garage available for those arriving by car. Younger guests between the ages of 4 and 12 can play in the kids' club to their heart's content. Car rental is available nearby.

Emplacement

This exclusive beach hotel is located amidst tropical vegetation and beside a 2 kilometre-long untouched sandy beach of the Mayan Riviera with a protective coral reef. A range of shops and numerous restaurants, bars, cafes, and other entertainment venues are located in the near area (about 30 minutes). Tulum is about 20 minutes by car, Playa del Carmen is 35 minutes away. Cancún Airport is 60 minutes away. Both Xel-ha and Xcaret theme parks are within around half an hour of the hotel.

From the airport drive towards Chetumal and stay on the same road. The hotel lies at KM250. From the street, the Hacienda Doña Isabel and a sign for the Bahía Príncipe can be seen. It is also possible to reach the hotel by bus or taxi. In addition, it is also possible to hire a car from the office in the Hacienda Doña Isabel.
