The city of Zakopane is in southern Poland, in the province of Little Poland (Malopolska). The city is in the imposing Tatra Mountains and is considered Poland?s main winter sports resort.
You will be able to see some very high mountains there, like Mount Swinica, which is over 2,300 metres high, and Mount Rysy, which is 2,499 metres above sea level.
The city also boasts some very good museums, such as the Museum of Natural History at the Tatra National Park, and there are also some good art galleries that regularly put on new exhibitions. Visitors should also make time to visit the Witkacy Theatre.
