 Clean, spacious accomodation providing a safe environment for families. Within walking distance of many good restaurants and a fantastic beach. Away from the commercialism of the main resort thus providing a relaxing holiday

 I think the Ponta Grande resort is an excellent place to stay, this is the second time I've been here, stayed in Nov 07. especially if you are the independant kind of traveller and keen to visit other towns/villages/places in the area. If you are the sort of person who likes staying around the pool or sun bathing by the beach I don't think this is the place for you, it may be boring as the resort is in a quiet area with hardly any 'nightlife', you would need to go by taxi into Albufeira which you can walk to by day but would be quite a long way at night. I always hire a car, which I pick-up from the airport so have no problem. Had a meal at the resort restaurant, which tasted excellent but rather expensive for what you got, a piece of fish/meat with a few boiled potatoes and a tiny bit of salad as garnish, a few more vegetables would have been nice and more value for money. Haven't rated the room as you rent a house but it is excellent. Hope this is of use.

This attractive hotel enjoys a peaceful location, around 4 km from the tourist centre of Albufeira, approximately 1 km from the nearest beautiful sandy beach, São Rafael. Access to public transport is located in the vicinity and Faro airport is around 40 km away.

The tastefully designed villas come with a bathroom, a telephone, satellite/cable TV, ironing facilities and a hire safe. Air conditioning and heating are individually regulated. In the modern kitchen guests will find a fridge, an oven and tea/coffee maker. Furthermore, the lodgings include a combined lounge/bedroom, a separate bedroom and a balcony or a terrace.
