Hotel description

The sturdy stone walls of this historic hotel, which opened in 1928, conceal a comfortable interior and a total of 74 rooms. The classic wood interiors prevail in the dining room, library and living rooms. The presence of granite columns and the furniture creates a traditional Castilian style. Gardens and terraces also feature. The hotel has a lobby with 24-hour reception, hotel safe, currency exchange facility and lift access. 2 cafés, a games room and TV lounge also feature. WLAN/Internet access is available (the former subject to an additional fee). For an extra charge, guests may also like to take advantage of the room and laundry services. Parking facilities are available to those arriving by car.

This hotel is set in the Gredos mountain range, nestled among crystalline waters, jutting rocks and luxuriant green pine groves. Its location, on El Alto del Risquillo, offers a privileged viewpoint over the Tormes valley, the Gredos massif and the Piedrahita and Béjar mountain ranges. This all combines to make the hotel an ideal base for excursions into the surrounding countryside. It is 60 km from Ávila, where the nearest bus and train stations can be found, and 170 km from Madrid. The centre of Navarredonda de Gredos is just a 15-minute walk away. There guests will find a variety of bars. There are various restaurants located just a 10-minute drive away. The nearest bus stop is directly at the hotel. The river Tormes is a 30-minute walk away. Parque Regional Sierra de Gredos and Puerto del Pico/Calzada Romana are both about a 15-minute drive away, while Cuevas del Águila and Arenas de San Pedro are both about 45 minutes away.

Starting from Ávila guests should take the N110, after 6 km take the N502 towards Arenas de San Pedro for 44 km. Upon reaching the AV941 proceed for another 10 km to reach the hotel.
