Mattresses were dirty although the linen and room clean - but couldn't not be clean as very minimal. No coffee making facilities or mini bar in hotel, no room service available. At check in wasn't informed about breakfast arrangements etc. had to ask. Cannot believe this hotel was refurbished only 4 years ago... pictures and decor depressing in room. No visitor or infomation packs in rooms, limited information available in foyer. Would recommend hotel to the young and the drunk ..... I'm sure there are worse but this is the worst 3* hotel I've stayed in ...

Spot on. Would use every visit. Could be failrly loud late into the night due to central location so if you're a light sleeper take ear plugs.

Room facing the main street far too noisy to able to sleep properly. We asked to be moved to a different room after 1 night, and accepted an inferior room to escape from the noise. Staff were very helpful and the hotel is a lovely building with lots of history. Very well located for transport, shops, attractions.

The building was constructed in 1842 and renovated in 2002 and is made up of a 4 floor main building with a total of 142 rooms of which 6 are singles and 136 are doubles. There is a 24-hour reception with a hotel safe, a lift and a café on offer to guests. Additional facilities include a bar, a pub, a TV room and an air-conditioned à la carte restaurant with a non-smoking area. A conference room, Internet access and room and laundry services are also available for guests.
