Typically bland hotel in need of a bit of refurbishment. Room was clean, although showing some significant 'wear and tear' and also noisy from traffic noise outside. Staff were helpful and courteous. Nothing to distinguish this hotel from the hundreds of others and, if anything, a bit too far away from the city centre to justify its price.

The first room did not have a bed in it which I found mildly amusing until I was given the second room which was disgustingly dirty with the mattress and bedding smelling so badly of years of accumulated smoke that I had to open the windows and put towels on the pillows to try and dampen the stale smell to sleep. Reception staff of no use as it is now a 'non smoking' room. This is probably my sixth stay here and defiantly the last.

This conference hotel is set in attractive grounds on the edge of the elegant town of Cheltenham, in the heart of the Cotswolds. In the city and tourist centre there are restaurants, bars, clubs and shops which can be easily reached in 10 minutes by car or with public transport. The nearest airport is about 83 km away.

Take exit 11 from the M5 and follow the A40 and the signs for Cheltenham. At the next junction take the 2nd exit. The hotel is located just on the left-hand side and there is a car park in front of and behind the building.
