Hotel description

The hotel and restaurant was built in 1794 and was originally two farm cottages. It became a farmhouse after the Rashleigh Arms was built in 1851. Then the occupants at the farm started taking in paying guests as farming prosperity declined before the First World War until the farm once again became a hotel. There are 26 rooms in total. It has a lobby, reception, 24-hour check-out service, a bar, restaurant and room service. Parking facilities are available to guests arriving by car.

Located in St. Austell, Cornwall, this historic hotel is situated on the picturesque harbour of Charlestown. It enjoys stunning views of the port and coastline of St. Austell Bay. Nightspots, shopping venues, and the bus and train stations are all about 4 km away. Other attractions in the area include The Shipwreck and Heritage Centre, The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Lanhydrock House.

By car: From Plymouth airport, head southwest on Plymbridge Lane. Turn left for Derriford Road, before turning right onto Derriford Road. At Derriford roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A386 / Tavistock Rd., and continue to follow the A386. Take the ramp onto Tavistock Rd., and at Manadon Junction roundabout take the 4th exit onto the A38 ramp to Liskeard. Merge onto the A38 partial toll road, and go through 2 roundabouts. At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit and stay on the A38. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A390, and go through the 1st roundabout. Turn left at Holmbush Arch Rd., and take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto Church Road. At the junction with Charlestown Rd. turn left.

There are different styles of room ranging from standard singles right up to superior doubles with spa bath and sea views. Family rooms and twin rooms also feature. All are en suite, and come with a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, central heating, a colour TV, Internet access and a direct dial telephone. An ironing set, double or king-size beds and individually regulated air conditioning are also provided.
 Sports/Entertainment
Sun parasols are provided. The nearest golf course is just under 3 km away. The nearby beach is a gravel beach.
 Observations
Reception is open from 7 am until 10 pm from Monday to Friday, and 8 am to 10 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Please collect keys from reception on arrival.
