 the hotel is well situated in the area. Lots of bars and restaurants on the same street.Quite a lot of roadworks going on just now, but it should make a real difference when the work is done. The room we had was small, but had all we needed for a two night stay,and toiletries were included too, along with a hairdrier, which was a surprise, considering it is only a two star. Toilet was in need of a makeover,but was clean.

 Remarkably central and easy to get to. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Emplacement

The hotel is located in the splendid cosmopolitan and historic district of Grassmarket and is only a few minutes' walk away from Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle. Scores of shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs and excellent public transport links are to be found in the immediate vicinity. The hotel enjoys a central location in a very popular district of town, in which many of the best pubs and clubs are to be found, including the Irish pub next door, Biddy Mulligan. There's plenty going on here every night, and some of the rooms are occasionally affected by noise from the street outside. Edinburgh Airport is approximately 12 km from the hotel.

From the airport: At the airport, take the bus to Waverly Bridge. Then turn right and walk straight ahead until you reach Cockburn Street. Follow this street to the end, cross Hunter's Square and go down Blair Street. Take a right and keep walking until you reach Cowgate, then after around 200 m you will be at Grassmarket. The hotel is the first building on the left-hand side. From Waverley Station: At the main exit of the station walk left towards Waverley Bridge, then follow the directions above. By car from the bypass: Exit at Sheriffhall Roundabout and drive in the direction of Grassmarket. Once at Grassmarket the hotel is the first building on the right-hand side.
