~We enjoyed everything about our stay, lovely hotel, lovely room, great bed, nice bar, great service.........except for....../#/-~........the fact that the maids woke us at 8.30 by banging on other guests doors. Then they just walked into our room at around 9am (they did knock but by this time with all of the knocking and banging on other doors, we didn't realise it was our door!!)To be honest we were extremely angry about this. We were checking out that day and didn't think our room would be cleaned until we left at 12. Our sleep was very much disturbed and it this went a long way to make our stay 'average' not 'very good'. /#/g~I have given the 'staff' a 3 rating because of the maid situation, but every other member of staff were extremely professional.

+~Excellent hotel with the most comfortable bed I 've ever slept in!! Staff very helpful and friendly, espceially the lady in the gift shop who went out her way to help a member of my group. Food was superb with a massive choice for breakfast. Would love to book this hotel again for a shopping weekend in Glasgow./#/

+~Close to shops and easy to access from motorway. Very comfortable bed Good choice of food for breakfast although it was not very hot./#/-~Extremely noisy room (due to a generator or pump of some sort outside the window on the 1st floor) Poor choice of food in bar (restuarant was being renovated) and it was very expensive with the service being very slow. Could not get non-smoking room as requested and the room was smelling of stale smoke despite the receptionist advising us that this would not be a problem. /#/g~We were glad we had got a special rate for the night at this hotel as we would have been extremely unhappy should we have had to pay the full rate charged by the hotel.
 

The hotel was built in 1982 and completely renovated in 2004. It has 300 rooms on 12 floors, including 296 doubles and 4 suites. Guests may make use of the cosy bar, pub and excellent and air-conditioned à la carte restaurant with separate non-smoking area. In addition, the hotel features a Internet access as well as room service (24 hours) and laundry service. Guests may park their cars either in the hotel car park, or in the garage.

From Glasgow Airport join the M8 Eastbound (signposted \"Glasgow\"). Depart M8 at Junction 19 and follow the signs for the City Centre. On Bothwell Street stay in the left-hand lane and turn left at the traffic lights onto Pitt Street. At the traffic lights turn left onto St Vincent Street, then turn left at the traffic lights onto Newton Street, again stay in the left-hand lane and follow down to the traffic lights. Turn left at the traffic lights and the hotel car park is on the left.
