Good location, plenty of space Room not particularly clean moved chair to switch on radiator and there were cob webs, toe nail clippings and other bits where the chair had been. Stayed overnight enroute to Newatlr for the Great North Run.

Built in 1800 and renovated in 2005, this country house is set over a two-storey main building and annex and has 47 rooms, of which 4 are suites and 2 are wheelchair-accessible. Guests are welcomed in the inviting lobby, which offers a 24-hour reception desk. Culinary options include an appealing bar and a restaurant with beautiful sea views and highchairs for children. In addition, there is a TV room. Several conference rooms are available for business guests. Room service rounds off the facilities on offer. Those arriving by car may use the hotel car park.
