good position for night life booked there twice now price differential £46 in july now £96 in september lots off night life easy welking distane

Very relaxed, staff at check in very professional. Request for bedding (there was none in the roomfor 3rd bed) was dealt with immediately. Quite centrally located for most of Newcastles attractions. Taxi service in immediate vacinity of hotel car park. We never had to wait for a taxi when we needed one. Couldn't fault the breakfasts but see below about cafe food. Although I had booked for 3 adults the third bed was a small bed settee with a thin mattress, not very comfortable for my grandaughter who is a petite 15 year old and I suspect would have been much worse for someone of true adult proportions. When we arrived we settled in and went to the cafe area for sandwiches. The food was extortionately expensive and the sandwiches stale. This was our first impressions of the food and decided not to buy any more meals in the hotel. We were not looking forward to breakfast but were pleasantly surprised at the quality and range of food on offer after our initial experience with lunchtime sandwiches. However, would mot stay here again. LIfe Centre and railway station lose by. Short taxi ride took us to the Gateshead shopping entre, apparently the biggest in Europe. We had a short walk into town with all the major shops. The Bigg Market and Quayside are within omfortable walking distane for pub and nightlife. The new millenium bridge area was a lovely experiene. We ate down there at the italian restaurant whih was lovely. We only managed to go to one art gallery the Laing with its blue arpet area, if we had more time we would have liked to explore the other more ontemporary ones. The hotel is well loated for most attrations shopping, eating and drinking plaes whilst not on the doorstep are not too far away

No hotel car park, nearest one across a busy road, expect £9 every 24hours! Very noisy in bar area and room as hotel attracts large Hen/Stag type groups.
